February Meeting Recap: Rental Rehabilitation Program

At our last Monthly Meeting, we had the opportunity to hear from Michele McKizia about the Rental Rehabilitation Program, which helps rental property owners make essential repairs using HOME funds in the form of repayable or forgivable loans. The program’s goal is to increase affordable housing in Omaha by addressing substandard conditions in rental properties.
To qualify, properties must be located in Omaha, have 1-4 units, and tenants cannot be displaced during the repairs. Additionally, city employees and their immediate families are not eligible. Covered repairs include major systems such as roofing, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and structural components.
